Thirty-six imaginative students from 26 different schools will gather August 1 through August 7 for a week of intense creative writing. They are working with four professional teaching writers who have mastered inventive ways to challenge students. The teaching writers are Catherine Jones of Missoula, MT, Chris Dempsey of Middleton, ID, Meghan Kenny of Baltimore, MD, and Nicole LeFavour of Boise, ID. The writing workshops are in the mornings with electives after lunch. The elective choices are about screenplays, characterization and non-verbal communication. We have two guest teachers, too, one who will discuss writing tools and another who is sharing her publishing experiences.

Our naturalist and writing assistants have planned a myriad of activities, some of which relate to writing and some of which offer prizes. We have a park service project, maybe two, and go horseback riding one evening. And we have lots of exploring time in Idaho's finest state park!
